De recondita abscessuum natura.Naples: apud Octavium Beltranum, 1632.The first textbook of surgical pathology. It treats of all kinds of swelling under the term “abscess” and describes neoplasms of the genital organs and sarcoma of bones. Tumors of the breast are classified into four groups, the section devoted to them being one of the most important in the book. It also contains the first description of infantile hydrocephalus.
