A system of surgery. 6 vols.Edinburgh: C. Elliot, 1783 – 1788.Bell studied under the Monros at Edinburgh. He was surgeon to the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, for 29 years. He improved the methods of amputation, introducing the “triple incision of Bell”. Above is his best work.
