On Mr. Tulley’s thick aplanatic object-glasses, for diverging rays; with an account of a few microscopic test objects.Quart. J. Sci., 22, 265-84, 1827.Goring was an Edinburgh medical practitioner. He commissioned Tulley and others to make various modifications to the microscope. The above paper reports the first effective achromatic object-glass.
