Hertztamponade: Ein Beitrag zur Herzchirurgie.Leipzig: F. C. W. Vogel, 1884.Rose coined the term "Herztomponade" translated as "cardiac tamponade." He "described the pathophysiology of cardiac tamponade and recorded 23 case histories of ruptured or wounded hearts, several of which did not cause death" (Westaby, Landmarks in Cardiac Surgery, 14.)
