New Eng. J. Med., 364, 603-615, 2011.

The authors, representatives of the "BEAT-ROP Cooperative Group," showed that intravitreal bevacizumab monoclonal antibody therapy in infants with stage 3+ retinopathy of prematurity showed a significant benefit for zone one disease compared to conventional laser therapy, and led to a recurrence rate of 6% versus 42% with conventional laser therapy.
